ABOUT COACH HARPER

The Story

EARLY LIFE

Coach Harper started out in sports as a running back for the Aberdeen Raiders in Hampton, VA when he was just 8 years old.  As he went through the years, he began to love football and wanted to ply at Florida State University.  He knew that in order to play big time college football he would need to get faster.  There was only one problem; he hated running.

Reluctantly he started running track in 1997; however, he quickly fell in love with the sport.  Between 1997 and 1999 he, along with 3 of his team mates became all-state and even all-American in track and field.

That love for track and football spilled over into college where Coach Harper was a 2 sport athlete in college.  He started his career at Alfred State College (University) where he earned All-Conference in football and was All-American in track winning the 2000 NJCAA Long Jump.

But his Career didn’t stop there.  In the summer of 2001 Coach Harper transferred to Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) to finish out his sports career as a football player and a track athlete.

It was a SVSU where Coach Harper had to make a tough decision to forgo his last season to take care of his sick mother.

SPEED TO DOMINATE

Thats when he started his speed training for kids journey. Coach Harper went to Tik Tok and started sharing his knowledge and his first video hit 1.3 million views!!

But Coach Harper didnt believe it.  He thought was a fluke. So, he went to Instagram. Because it is very hard to grow in Instagram, Coach Harper knew if he could get some traction there, then his content was truly a hit.

The next thing that happened was astonishing.  Coach Harper’s 3rd video hit 1.7 Million views!

This is when Coach Harper knew that he found his way back to coaching.  But not only was he coaching track kids, he was coaching kids playing all sports!

Once the following grew to over 20K, Coach Harper looked for more ways to serve his audience. And in April of 2023 the first version of Speed to Dominate was created.

Speed to Dominate was created as a culmination of over 15 years coaching track and field.  It started out as a 12-month program and then transformed to a much shorter condensed version that gets powerful results in less than 30 days.

Speed to Dominate has helped hundreds of youth athletes drop up to 6 seconds in less than 30 days.

PERSONAL LIFE

Coach Harper is a family man and is married to his beautiful Wife Rachel Harper.  Together they have 3 children.

WHO IS COACH HARPER?

Over the past 15 years, I’ve coached hundreds of youth track and field athletes, high school and college football athletes, high school track athletes, developed 5 U.S. Top 10 track athletes, coached many individual champions, and helped 14 athletes receive Division 1 college scholarships. Starting in 2023 I decided to start helping youth athletes learn to run properly so they can get faster with a focus on speed and agility training for youth. Because what I found over my years of coaching is that most athletes don’t know how to run properly and if they learned how to run they could unlock speed that they didn’t know they had.

CAREER

Coach Harper started his coaching career in 2009 after being hired to as a Master Control Operator for Local TV, LLC.  Harper found his love for coaching after deciding to give it a try.

It was that “try” that made him realize that he would much rather coach than live out his dream of being a News Anchor. So, Coach Harper quit his job and began to work in the school system so he could actually make the sporting events and work more directly with his athletes.

Coach Harper won many championships in track ranging from individual championships to team championships while coaching track in Virginia.

In 2014 Coach Harper left Virginia to go to GA.  In GA, Coach Harper Became the Head Coach for two different High Schools where the winning ways continued.

Al in All, Coach Harper was able to send 14 kids to division 1 colleges and had 5 kids be ranked in the top 10 Nationally including his daughter and was able to bring in over 20 individual and team championships.

As with all things, there came an end. During the COVID -19 pandemic Coach Harper found himself at a crossroads.  He was faced with a decision to stay teaching or leave the profession.

Ultimately, Coach Harper decided to do what was best for his life and his family so in 2021 he decided to quit teaching and become a full-time entrepreneur.

That decision meant that he would no longer be able to be a head coach.  However, Coach Harper knew that his coaching journey did not end there.  He had more left in the tank and wanted to continue but just didnt know how he would be able to do it.

GIVING BACK

Speed to Dominate extends past its extended running family to donate to another group Coach Harper calls family.  In early 2016 Coach Harper’s Mother Nanette Maria Mann (Harper) lost her battle with kidney disease.

She followed Coach Harper’s Grandmother who had complications with her surgery due to having kidney disease.  And finally, Coach Harper’s uncle also battled with kidney disease.

If that wasn’t enough, Coach Harper’s wife has only 1 kidney.  Coach Harper is committed to giving back to the American Kidney Fund from each sale of the Speed to Dominate cluster of programs
